Auravedic's Pomegranate Grapeseed Face Polish

A Face Polish is a creamy exfoliant which help in cleansing and exfoliating your skin to appear light, refresh and renewed to give that youthful glow on your face.

The last time I used Face Polish was from Lotus Herbals - Kiwi Facial Polish which I had reviewed HERE - A nice product which left my skin refreshed and clean.

Its been two weeks since I am using Auravedic's Face Polish - I even tried it on my mom . . .  The thing I love about face polish is the way they are formulated - they are non-abrasive and creamy which makes them perfect for everyday use.

Product: Age Repair Face Polish Pomegranate Grapeseed.
Price: 300 INR

Quantity: 100 gms.

What the Product Claims:
Premium ingredients, natural extracts, and essential oils blend together to create a delightfully invigorating polish. Ground Pomegranate and Grape seeds gently exfoliate and detoxify. Antioxidants in Green Tea , Kiwi and Pomegranate extracts help keep skin looking young and healthy. Gentle enough to use everyday.
Free of Parabens, SLS, Harmful Chemicals & Colours.

Ingredients:
Kokum Butter, Beeswax, Pomegranate extract, Grapeseed extract, Green Tea extract, Jojoba Oil, Ylang ylang oil, Pomegranate seeds, Sunflower oil, Polymer granules , Olivem 1000, Purified water, Pomegranate perfume.

Due to high concentration of natural extracts, essential oils and floral waters, this product may not be suitable for all skin types.

My Experience with the Product:

I absolutely adore this product - The moment you open up the jar you are mesmerized by the smell of pomegranates and kokum.

The product is very creamy and comes in a plastic jar. The lid opens up to reveal another white rubber lid inside to prevent the spillage of product.

The face polish is very creamy and the granules are very fine and non- abrasive... Even if you go overboard with scrubbing this face polish would not hurt your facial skin.

This product is very skin friendly and it never gave me any breakouts or allergic reactions.

The creamy texture of the polish won't leave your skin dry and stretchy.

Its mentioned that this product may not suit all skin types - But it has proved to work just fine on my combination skin tone and my mom's normal skin tone.

I used this product every alternate day - Just a scoop of the polish - Scrubbed it for a minute on the face and then relax and let the product sit for a while on your skin before washing it off .... the result was awesome - it refreshes you and scrubs away the dead cells to reveal a soft glowy skin.

I also used this product along with my facial cleansing tool - the tool effectively scrubs the facial skin and gave better results.

My mom tested the product a step further - She scrubbed her skin and after keeping the polish for 5 minutes on her face - she opted for face steam... It gave fantastic results on her skin. "Inexpensive facial at home" - She said...  :)

I can't comment on the age repair or skin firming capability of this product yet because its only been two weeks since it was first used... Maybe constant usage will show some results.

Love it or Chuck it ?
Not tested on animals, Natural, Organic, Free of harmful chemicals and colors - This product definitely ROCKS !!  I definitely Love it !! A perfect gift to all the mothers  : )

Please note: The product was sent by the company's PR for consideration.

Osteoporosis: Myths and Facts,Tips and Treatment.

Hello everyone, Today I will blog about a totally different topic rather than the regular product reviews. I received a newsletter from Himalaya Herbals about "Osteoporosis" which educated me a lot about the silent disease. Mostly women are prone to this disease and hence after a certain age we need to take care of a few things in order to keep this disease at bay.

Below is the Newsletter about Osteoporosis which I like to share with you all. I hope you all will find it helpful.....

Five Myths about Osteoporosis:

MYTH-Osteoporosis is a ‘natural' disease that comes with age.
FACT- While osteoporosis is a disease that does affects the older population at large, it can be prevented by proper diet, exercise and medical attention. It is very important to diagnose and treat the disease.

MYTH- too young to get osteoporosis.
FACT-It is a common myth that only ‘little old ladies' get osteoporosis. Young people need to ensure that they regularly take calcium supplements to build bone mass now. A good lifestyle can cut down the risk of osteoporosis by as much as 50%.

MYTH- is not a serious condition.
FACT-The consequences of osteoporosis are extremely painful, which can lead to death. A substantial percentage of those who fracture their hips die due to surgical complications conducted to repair the fracture. More than half who survive a hip fracture cannot move easily for the rest of their lives.

MYTH-Once I get osteoporosis, I can't do anything about it.
FACT-The consequences of osteoporosis are extremely painful, which can lead to death. A substantial percentage of those who fracture their hips die due to surgical complications conducted to repair the fracture. More than half who survive a hip fracture cannot move easily for the rest of their lives.

MYTH-I'll know if I have osteoporosis.
FACT-Osteoporosis is referred to as the ‘silent disease', which progresses over time, without symptoms until a fracture occurs. Diagnosis is of utmost importance.

7 Ways to Keep Osteoporosis at Bay:

Eat a calcium-rich diet, which includes milk, yoghurt, cheese, broccoli, spinach and soy products.

It has been revealed that Vitamin D stimulates the absorption of calcium into the body. So ensure that you are exposed to some sunshine everyday!

The acid in soft drinks washes the enamel off teeth and depletes calcium from bones. Reduce your intake of soda beverages.

Avoid alcohol, coffee and smoking. These have been linked to bone disorders like osteoporosis.

Strengthening and weight bearing exercises are a good way to keep your bones healthy. Ensure that you get adequate exercise each day.

Drink green tea! Green tea, full of antioxidants, helps in building bone mineral density.Eat unpurified or natural salts, which is rich in vital trace elements

Ayurveda for Osteoporosis:

According to the traditional Indian system of medicine Ayurveda, osteoporosis is a vata disorder. This is an element or a dosha, which is condensed from element or space. Ancient texts claim that bones become porous due to an excess of air and ether, which results in this particular health condition.
To balance the vata dosha or to treat osteoporosis, Ayurveda recommends herbs like ginger, long pepper and cinnamon. For menopausal women, red pepper, parsley, sage and fennel-rich diet is advised to retain bone mineral density.

Treating Osteoporosis:

Drawing from Ayurvedic texts, at Himalaya, we have developed a range of herbal drugs for the treatment of osteoporosis:

Reosto restores bone mass and increases the mineral content in bones. It also alleviates associated pain with osteoporosis. Containing naturally-forming calcium, Resosto helps in maintaining healthy bone structure.
Osteoporosis is common in older women, who are suffering from menopause. Himalaya's Menosan helps in postmenopausal symptoms, of which brittle bones due to bone tissue degeneration is a major concern.
Geriforte helps in early new bone deposition by formation of callus formation in osteoporosis. It is known to promote cellular regeneration.

I am sure you all must be knowing someone who is affected by this disease... Did you find this information helpful ????
