Dream Cluster Reviews: Dream Lumi Touch Concealer

I had received a Dream Range Hamper from Maybelline and its been quite exciting to try out the Dream Range products. Along with Dream Liquid Mousse Foundation, Dream Matte Mousse Foundation, Dream Matte Pressed Powder, Dream Touch Blush and the hamper contained the latest and revolutionary Dream Lumi Touch Concealer.

A good concealer is a must for every girl's vanity. It not only offers a perfect cover up for those nasty acne marks and dark circles but also it helps to create that perfect canvas on your face so that you can proceed to re-create your favorite look. 

So Here is my experience with the lumi concealer -

Let's look at the Packaging :

This concealer comes in a pen format - the same one where you twist the bottom to dispense the product from the tip of the brush. The packaging is similar to Bourjois concealer pen and Lakme Absolute Lip Last. The pen is nice and sturdy, travel friendly and the brush is formatted for an easy application. 

My Experience with the Product: 

I have received the "Ivory" shade which is the lightest from the lot. I guess Nude or Buff shade would have been best match for my skintone.
Anyhow, The Ivory shade is best for highlighting the dark areas of my face and for concealing light imperfections. 
It took me exactly 23 clicks the first time to finally see a hint of the product ooze out of the brush .. which was enough to dab and highlight my whole face. 
The texture of the concealer is the best so far .. it is perfect ..not too runny or creamy. It is easily blended into the skin to give that fresh,glow look.
Attention - People with light dark circles - This is a perfect product to conceal your dark circles and illuminate your eyes. 
This product stays on for hours.. I had applied it in the morning and it stayed put till the evening easily ..For reference - I was dashing in and out of an AC environment thru- out the whole time. 
All in all it is a great concealer for those who those who prefer light and not heavy creamy concealers on their face. 
I would love to check out shades which would match my skin tone to cover my dark circles. Except I am still hunting for these products nearby my place. I can't seem to find them anywhere yet.

Sheer Cover Mineral Foundation

It's time to review yet another product I used from Sheer Cover Starter Kit - I reviewed Sheer Cover Concealer before HERE.

The only Mineral Foundation I had tried was the one from L'oreal and I had posted my experience ( which was BAD) HERE - ages agoo. I dared not to experiment with mineral foundations for a while after that.

After an amazing experience I had trying out the Sheer Cover Concealer - I moved a step further and experimented their Mineral Foundation on my skin.

INSTRUCTIONS - 

First Look At the Product -
The Mineral Foundation comes in a transparent round casing with screw cap lid. You invert the case and tap once to let the mineral powder out of the sieve lid. Swirl the powder with the help of Mineral foundation brush that is provided along with the product. Tap the brush to remove excess of the product and buff the powder onto your face in circular motions.

My Experience with the Product -

The first time I applied the foundation was with the help of the Mineral Foundation Brush which they had provided - The brush is not that great - It feels rough on your face. I would get another different brush for applying foundation - But that's just my opinion - You can work the foundation with this brush too. It works fine. Also the Kabuki brush which provided along with the kit is perfect if you don't want to use the foundation brush - It is perfect for touch ups hence I keep it in a cute bag in my purse.

I got two shades of foundation - Golden and Almond. I use 1:1 ratio of both to custom blend a shade which matches perfectly with my skin tone. I was initially skeptical of using this product since I had read too many bad reviews on it.

Almond Shade - It is perfect for Contouring purposes also.

Nevertheless, I wore the foundation several times to college and I was happy to see that the foundation did a good job. The powder is light - gives a perfect finish on your face if you layer the foundation after applying concealer to conceal your problem areas.

The shades I custom blend - match exactly my skin tone and it gives you a feeling like your not wearing any makeup at all. The foundation stayed put on my face for good 8 hours - Yes ! Another amazing fact was that It did not oxidize on my face too.

The mineral foundation already contains SPF which is great as you don't need to apply sunscreen separately. The foundation does not instantly glowing and radiant skin like they show in commercials but they do a fantastic job in making your skin flawless and giving it a perfect finish.

I had not yet boarded - Mineral Makeup bandwagon but this product has got me changing my opinion.

Sheer Cover Concealer: Review

I love the natural makeup look - It looks so elegant and enhances our skin in a way that it looks perfect and fresh. Our skin looks natural and glowing - Not "Made up" and " Fake".

One benefit of Mineral Makeup is just that it boasts usage of beneficial and 100% natural ingredients which protect your skin from any kind of damage since it doesn't contain any synthetic ingredients like dyes, talc, perfume etc.

I have had huge dark circles for as long as I can remember. After trying and testing everything from the drugstore possible - I was left with one conclusion - Nothing is going to work on these panda eyes.So when I received the Sheer Cover Starter Kit - Sheer Cover Concealer was the FIRST THING I had to try out.

Here is the my testimony on the Product: 

Sheer Cover Concealer comes in a transparent small compact like packaging case - which houses two colored concealer in one case. You have to custom blend both the shades so as to match your skin tone.

Custom Blending:
For that custom blend - I first applied a stripe of each of colored concealer on my jawline. I figured out I needed to custom blend both the shades a bit to cover up my blemishes and acne spots. As for my dark circles, I needed lighter shade to nullify the dark circles and then blend the darker shade to match my skin tone.

I found the concept of keeping both the shades of concealer separate very innovative. It is convenient and easy so as for customer who can blend the shades to match their skin tone perfectly. It is also ideal as our skin tone tends to change throughout the year.

My Experience: 

I have been using this concealer everyday now. Its lightweight and compact packaging is a HIT with me. I carry it everywhere in case I need to touch up. The concealer brush which is provided along with the concealer is just awesome !! Its perfect stiff bristles applies the concealer in the most perfect manner.

I am in love with the consistency of the concealer -  It is creamy and light. You don't feel like your wearing anything on your skin. It perfectly blends into your skin and does not migrate into your fine lines. I have read that the concealer tends to become powdery and patchy on your skin after a while. I did not face this issue at all. I have used this concealer constantly everyday. I apply a good moisturizer after cleansing my face. Let the moisturizer seep into the skin and then apply the concealer on my problem area with the help of the brush. I pat on some compact all over the face and I am ready to go.

The darker shade is more apt for my skin. To cover my dark circles I need to blend bit of both the shades.

 The combination of concealer and a compact powder is perfect for everyday routine. The concealer stays put for good 5 hours. Another thing I love about the concealer is that it does not wipe off - you can snuggle and rub all you want - it wont budge from your skin.

The concealer is great for covering up blemishes, dark spots and acne marks on your face. I need to put on little efforts to cover up my dark circles - but the end result is just perfect !  The concealer was successful in covering the redness I had on my right side of the face -  thanks to my beauty therapist who popped off my acne during a facial session.

It is perfect concealer and I would recommend this concealer to anyone who has problem areas on their skin. The concealer followed by the mineral foundation will ensure you look radiant and flawless!!!

Lotus Herbals Swift Makeup Stick

Oh! How clearly I remember getting this product I had gone to the beauty store in search of a good concealer for my dark circles and ended up buying this. As soon as I entered the store I headed towards Maybelline counter in hopes of finding a concealer. I was disappointed to find that Maybelline didn’t sell any concealer in India. Just when I was turning away, a SA of the very next counter which belonged to Lotus Herbals started showing me something. I must tell that particular SA was so pushy !!

She got me to buy a lip gloss and other product which is lotus swift makeup. It is a 4 in one product which acts as foundation, concealer, compact providing matt powder finish and lastly moisturizing. She applied the product in the under eye area and it was successful in concealing them to an extent. So I finally got it and after using it for quite sometime now, here’s the review ---

SHADE:  730 Creamy Peach

This product comes in a thick lipstick like case which has a transparent cover on the top. The top can be removed and the bottom is twisted up to use the product. It looks like an ordinary stick foundation.

I personally do not prefer stick foundations because they are too difficult to blend making the process of applying the foundation too tedious. 

I tried applying this foundation all over my face but I highly disliked the way it makes you feel.  It makes my face feel very weird. The foundation is not difficult to blend into the skin but it kind of feels very strange and abnormal to me when I apply it all over my face. It made me feel like I am wearing something thick on my face.

I dislike the oily- kind of smell that this product has. Being a huge fragrance fan – oily smell is a total turn off for me. 

 I also dislike the fact that this product stands at the risk of getting contaminated. Everytime we apply this product on the skin the bacteria can keep on lodging itself on the top of the product which may cause acne or break-outs later on. You can’t risk applying the product with your bare hands until they are absolutely clean.    

Since it is creamy and moisturizing, I have broken its stick twice. :)

 

This product is good for covering acne and blemishes on your skin. It acts as a good spot concealer but certainly not as face foundation. 

It has SPF 15 which is also good as you won’t need to apply sunscreen separately.

LOVE IT OR CHUCK IT? : This product is definitely a pass for me. I use this product to conceal blemishes. I would definitely chuck it if I were to use it as a foundation.
